Eleutherodactylus pechorum McCranie and Wilson, 1999, Proc. Biol. Soc. Washington, 112: 515. Holotype: USNM 530000, by original designation. Type locality: "from near a small dam along a small tributary of the Quebrada de Las Marías (15° 17.64′ N, 84° 21.29′ W), about 12 airline km NNE La Colonia, Departamento de Olancho, Honduras, 680 m elev."

Distribution

Low to moderate elevations (150-680 m) on the Atlantic versant of the northeastern and eastern portions of the Honduran departments of Olancho and Colón.

In the Eleutherodactylus rugulosus group according to the original publication. See accounts by Campbell and Savage, 2000, Herpetol. Monogr., 14: 260-261, and McCranie and Wilson, 2002, Amph. Honduras: 425-428. Savage, 2002, Amph. Rept. Costa Rica: 226, included this species in his Eleutherodactylus fitzingeri series, Eleutherodactylus rugulosus group. McCranie, 2007, Herpetol. Rev., 38: 37, summarized the departmental distribution in Honduras. In the Craugastor punctariolus species series of Hedges, Duellman, and Heinicke, 2008, Zootaxa, 1737: 42.
