Type locality: "from near a small dam along a small tributary of the Quebrada de Las Marías (15° 17.64′ N, 84° 21.29′ W), about 12 airline km NNE La Colonia, Departamento de Olancho, Honduras, 680 m elev."

Distribution
Low to moderate elevations (150-680 m) on the Atlantic versant of the northeastern and eastern portions of the Honduran departments of Olancho and Colón.

Honduras: 425-428. Savage, 2002, Amph. Rept. Costa Rica: 226, included this species in his Eleutherodactylus fitzingeri series, Eleutherodactylus rugulosus group. McCranie, 2007, Herpetol.
