Elevations of 800-1000 m in the Sierra de Caral, Departamento de Izabal, Guatemala; probably into adjacent Honduras.
In the Eleutherodactylus spatulatus subgroup of the Eleutherodactylus alfredi group according to the original publication. McCranie and Smith, 2006, Herpetologica, 62: 190, suggested that this species will be found in northwestern Honduras. In the Craugastor (Hylactophryne) bocourti species series of Hedges, Duellman, and Heinicke, 2008, Zootaxa, 1737: 45.
