Zool., 116: 246-247, considered Eleutherodactylus conspicuus a subspecies of Craugastor alfredi, whereas Duellman, 1960, Univ. Kansas Publ. Mus. Nat. Hist., 13: 53-54, saw little justification for recognizing Craugastor alfredi conspicuus as distinct at all.
