Not assignable to species group of Eleutherodactylus according to the original publication. Caramaschi and Niemeyer, 2005, Herpetol. Formerly in the Pristimantis (Pristimantis) unistrigatus species group of Hedges, Duellman, and Heinicke, 2008, Zootaxa, 1737: 128, prior to its transfer to Ceuthomantidae by Heinicke, Duellman, Trueb, Means, MacCulloch, and Hedges, 2009, Zootaxa, 2211: 16.
