Lepidobatrachus llanensis Reig and Cei, 1963, Physis, Buenos Aires, 24: 198. Holotype: IBAUNC 037/1, by original designation. Type locality: "Punta de los Llanos (La Rioja)", Argentina.
English Names
Llanos Frog (Frank and Ramus, 1995, Compl. Guide Scient. Common Names Amph. Rept. World: 81).
Distribution
La Rioja, Formosa, Cordoba, Salta, Catamarca, Santiago del Estero, and Chaco provinces, Argentina; also adjacent Paraguay (Departamento Alto Paraguay) and in the Province of Gran Chaco, Department of Tarija, Bolivia.
Comment
Reichle, Embert, and Faivovich, 2004, Herpetol. Rev., 35: 282, reported this species in Bolivia. Brusquetti and Lavilla, 2006, Cuad. Herpetol., 20: 16, briefly discussed the range in Paraguay.
