Lepidobatrachus laevis Budgett, 1899, Q. J. Microsc. Sci., 42: 329. Holotype: Not stated; given as BMNH 1919.4.23.2, by XXX. Type locality: "Paraguayan Chaco".

Ceratophrys laevis — Boulenger, 1919, Ann. Mag. Nat. Hist., Ser. 9, 3: 533.

Ceratophrys (Lepidobatrachus) laevis — Parker, 1931, J. Linn. Soc. London, Zool., 37: 287. Use of parentheses to indicate that he thought Boulenger's synonymy of the generic names would be overturned, not subgeneric usage (DRF).

Distribution

Northern and eastern areas of Chacoan environments, Argentina (provinces of Chaco, Santa Fe, Salta, and Formosa), Bolivia (departments of Santa Cruz and Tarija), and Paraguay (departments of Presidente Hayes, Boquerón, and Alto Paraguay).
