Ceratophrys calcarata Boulenger, 1890, Proc. Zool. Soc. London, 1890: 327. Holotype: BMNH 1947.2.17.28 (formerly 89.12.16.168), according to museum records. Type locality: "Colombia".

Distribution

Caribbean lowlands of Colombia and Venezuela; isolated population in Amazonian Venezuela.

Venezuelica, 18: 41, commented on the range in Venezuela. Lynch, 1982, Syst. Zool., 31: 166-179, reported the Venezuelan Amazonian population which had previously been confused with Ceratophrys cornuta.
