Cornufer moszkowskii Vogt, 1912, Sitzungsber. Ges. Naturforsch. Freunde Berlin, 1912: 358. Holotype: ZMB. Type locality: "Innere von Halländisch-Neu=Guinea gesammelt worden, und zwar zwischen 137° 50′ bis 138° 50′ östl. Länge und 1° 45′—3° 50′ südl. Breite". Treated as Rana (Platymantis) moszkowskii by Van Kampen, 1923, Amph. Indo-Austral. Arch.: 188, who considered it possibly identical with Platymantis boulengeri or Platymantis corrugatus (as "Rana rugata" (?)). Synonymy with Platymantis corrugatus papuensis by Loveridge, 1948, Bull. Mus. Comp. Zool., 101: 308. Recognized as distinct by Brown, 1965, Breviora, 218: 2. Synonymy by Zweifel, 1969, Am. Mus. Novit., 2374: 7.

Distribution

New Guinea (Indonesia and Papua New Guinea) and surrounding islands, including the d'Entrecasteaux and Trobriand groups, also Sula and Seram, New Britain and New Ireland, 0-1200 m elevation; Bismarck Archipelago.

Biol., 55: 579-594, suggested that Platymantis papuensis (their sole exmplar of the Platymantis papuensis group) is the sister taxon of Ceratobatrachus.
