Platymantis mimicus Brown and Tyler, 1968, Proc. Biol. Soc. Washington, 81: 74. Holotype: SAMA 6868, by original designation. Type locality: "Numundo Plantation, Willaumez Peninsula on the north coast of New Britain Island".
Platymantis mimica — Günther, 1999, Mitt. Mus. Naturkd. Berlin, Zool., 75: 327-328. by implication. Unjustified emendation according to Kraus and Allison, 2007, Zootaxa, 1485: 29-30.
English Names
Numundo Wrinkled Ground Frog (Frank and Ramus, 1995, Compl. Guide Scient. Common Names Amph. Rept. World: 105).
Distribution
Near Kandrian on the south coast of New Britain Island, although probably widespread on the lowlands.
