Platymantis desticans Brown and Richards, 2008, Zootaxa, 1888: 49. Holotype: SAMAR56849, by original designation. Type locality: "Barora Faa Island, (off the western tip of Isabel Isl.), 0-10 m above sea level (07° 32.065′S, 158° 21.005′E), Isabel Province, Solomon Islands", Papua New Guinea.

Known only from the Barora Island (off the western tipe of Isabel Island) Isabel Province, and Choiseul Island (Choiseul Province), Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea.
