In the Hyalinobatrachium fleischmanni group, according to Ruiz-Carranza and Lynch, 1991, Lozania, 57: 1-30. Cisneros-Heredia and McDiarmid, 2007 "2006", Herpetotropicos, Mérida, 3: 21-28, provided a map for Ecuador. Cisneros-Heredia and McDiarmid, 2007, Zootaxa, 1572: 56, discussed the species in Ecuador and noted the relevant literature. See comment under Hyalinobatrachium lemur. See photograph, map, description of geographic range and habitat, and conservation status in Stuart, Hoffmann, Chanson, Cox, Berridge, Ramani, and Young, 2008, Threatened Amph. World: 220. Cisneros-Heredia and McDiarmid, 2007, Zootaxa, 1572: 57, regarded Hyalinobatrachium lemur to be likely conspecific with Hyalinobatrachium pellucidum but did not make a formal change. Wen, Vazquez, and Castroviejo-Fisher, 2012, Zootaxa, 3480: 80-87, reported on the advertisement call.
