Comment

In the Hyalinobatrachium pulveratum group according to Ruiz-Carranza and Lynch, 1991, Lozania, 57: 1-30. Señaris and Ayarzagüena, 2005, Rev. Taxonom. Fam. Centrolenidae de Venezuela: 154-160, provided a review of the morphology, natural history, and range of this species (as Hyalinobatrachium antisthenesi). Transferred into Cochranella by Cisneros-Heredia and McDiarmid, 2006, Zootaxa, 1244: 1-32. Cisneros-Heredia and Meza-Ramos, 2007, Zootaxa, 1485: 38, noted that the lack of apomorphies associating this species with Hyalinobatrachium did not imply that Cochranella is monophyletic and that further phylogenetic work should elucidate relationships and provide for a corresponding monophyletic taxonomy. See photograph, map, description of geographic range and habitat, and conservation status (as Hyalinobatrachium antisthenesi) in Stuart, Hoffmann, Chanson, Cox, Berridge, Ramani, and Young, 2008, Threatened Amph. World: 218. Wen, Vazquez, and Castroviejo-Fisher, 2012, Zootaxa, 3480: 80-87, reported on the advertisement call.
