Comment

In the Hyalinobatrachium pulveratum group, according to Ruiz-Carranza and Lynch, 1991, Lozania, 57: 1-30. See accounts by Savage, 2002, Amph. Rept. Costa Rica: 368-369, and McCranie and Wilson, 2002, Amph. Honduras: 224-226. McCranie, 2007, Herpetol. Rev., 38: 38, summarized the departmental distribution in Honduras. Cisneros-Heredia and Meza-Ramos, 2007, Zootaxa, 1485: 38, noted that the lack of apomorphies associating this species with Hyalinobatrachium did not imply that Cochranella is monophyletic and that further phylogenetic work should elucidate relationships and provide for a corresponding monophyletic taxonomy. Cisneros-Heredia and McDiarmid, 2007, Zootaxa, 1572: 60-61, discussed the species in Ecuador and noted the relevant literature. See account by Guayasamin, Cisneros-Heredia, and Castroviejo-Fisher, 2008, Zootaxa, 1815: 27-28. Cisneros-Heredia and McDiarmid, 2007 "2006", Herpetotropicos, Mérida, 3: 21-28, provided a map for Ecuador (as Hyalinobatrachium fleischmanni). Kubicki, 2007, Glass Frogs Costa Rica: 216-229, provided an account and detailed range map for Costa Rica (as Hyalinobatrachium pulveratum). Bustamante, Cisneros-Heredia, Yanez-Munoz, Ortega-Andrade, and Guayasamin, 2007, Check List, 3: 271-276, reported this species in the Ecuadorian Chocó. Cisneros-Heredia, 2009, Check List, 5: 912-916, discussed the range. See comments by Sunyer, Páiz, Dehling, and Köhler, 2009, Herpetol. Notes, 2: 189-202, regarding Nicaraguan populations. Wilson, Townsend, Herrera-B., Atkinson, Cerrato-M., and Mejía, 2011, Herpetol. Notes, 4: 37-38, provided a range extension to northern Honduras. Travers, Townsend, Sunyer, Obando, Wilson, and Nickerson, 2011, Herpetol. Rev., 42: 399, noted a new locality in Nicaragua (Atlántico Norte).
