Cochranella saxiscandens Duellman and Schulte, 1993, Occas. Pap. Mus. Nat. Hist. Univ. Kansas, 155: 22. Holotype: KU 211779, by original designation. Type locality: "Cataratas Ahaushiyacu (06°30′S, 76°20′W, 730 m), 14 km (by road) northeast of Tarapoto, Provincia San Martín, Departamento San Martín, Perú".

English Names

Tarapoto Cochran Frog (Frank and Ramus, 1995, Compl. Guide Scient. Common Names Amph. Rept. World: 47).

Distribution

Known only from the vicinity of the type locality (north of Tarapoto, San Martín, Peru, 800 m elevation).

Comment

In the Cochranella ocellata group according to the original publication. Placed in the Cochranella spinosa group by Savage, 2002, Amph. Rept. Costa Rica: 365.
