Centrolenella phenax Cannatella and Duellman, 1982, Herpetologica, 38: 382. Holotype: KU 162263, by original designation. Type locality: "Tutumbaro, Río Piene, 1840 m, Departmento Ayacucho, Peru (73° 55′ W, 12° 42′ S)".

Distribution
Known only from the type locality (Ayacucho, Peru).
Comment
In the Cochranella ocellata group according to Ruiz-Carranza and Lynch, 1991, Lozania, 57: 1-30. De la Riva, Köhler, Lötters, and Reichle, 2000, Rev. Esp. Herpetol., 14: 58, and Köhler, 2000, Bonn. Zool. Monogr., 48: 69, consider this species possibly to occur in Bolivia.
