Eupsophus nahuelbutensis Ortiz and Ibarra-Vidal, 1992, Acta Zool. Lilloana, 41: 75. Holotype: MZUC 16822, by original designation. Type locality: "el sector de Pichinahuel, Cordillera de Nahuelbuta, en el interior del Parque Nacional Nahuelbuta, Provincia de Malleco, Chile, 1200 m."

Distribution
Known only from the region of the type locality, Nahuelbuta National Park, 900-1500 m elevation, Arauco Province, Chile 100-850 m elevation.
