Comment

For discussion see Goin, 1964, Herpetologica, 20: 1-8, Lynch, Ruiz-Carranza, and Rueda-Almonacid, 1983, Stud. Neotrop. Fauna Environ., 18: 239-243; Ruiz-Carranza, Hernández-Camacho, and Ardila-Robayo, 1986, Caldasia, 15: 435. In spite of the Amazonian type locality, the species is known only from the Pacific slopes of the Andes. In the Centrolene geckoideum group according to Ruiz-Carranza and Lynch, 1991, Lozania, 57: 1-30. Rueda-Almonacid, 1994, Trianea, 5: 133-187, provided an extensive account. Lynch and Renjifo, 2001, Guia Anf. Rept. Bogota: 40, presented a brief account and photograph. Cisneros-Heredia and McDiarmid, 2007, Zootaxa, 1572: 52, discussed the species, noted the relevant literature, and disputed the assumption that the type locality is in error. See photograph, map, description of geographic range and habitat, and conservation status in Stuart, Hoffmann, Chanson, Cox, Berridge, Ramani, and Young, 2008, Threatened Amph. World: 209.
