Bufo preussi Matschie, 1893, Sitzungsber. Ges. Naturforsch. Freunde Berlin, 1893: 175. Syntypes: ZMB (originally 60 specimens), BMNH 1935.2.8.3 (presumably exchanged from ZMB), MCZ 10296 (exchanged from ZMB according to Barbour and Loveridge, 1929, Bull. Mus. Comp. Zool., 69: 232), according to A.G.C. Grandison in Frost, 1985, Amph. Species World: 77. Type locality: "Buea, Kamerun, 950 m".

Atelopus africanus Werner, 1898, Verh. Zool. Bot. Ges. Wien, 48: 201. Syntypes: ZMB, and including NHMW 20995, according to Häupl and Tiedemann, 1978, Kat. Wiss. Samml. Naturhist. Mus. Wien, 2: 13, and Häupl, Tiedemann, and Grillitsch, 1994, Kat. Wiss. Samml. Naturhist. Mus. Wien, 9: 17. Type locality: "Bismarkburg (Adeli, Togo)" [in error according to Perret, 1966, Zool. Jahrb., Jena, Abt. Syst., 93: 311]. Data with NHMW syntype is "Bismarkburg, Togo", according to Häupl, Tiedemann, and Grillitsch, 1994, Kat. Wiss. Samml. Naturhist. Mus. Wien, 9: 17. Synonymy by Boulenger, 1899, Zool. Rec., 35: 27; Nieden, 1923, Das Tierreich, 46: 105; Perret, 1966, Zool. Jahrb., Jena, Abt. Syst., 93: 311.

Stenoglossa fulva Andersson, 1903, Verh. Zool. Bot. Ges. Wien, 53: 144. Holotype: NHMG, although not listed in current type list. Type locality: "Buca im Kamerungebirge in einem Regenbach" (= Cameroon range [Buea]). Synonymy by Tandy and Keith, 1972, in Blair (ed.), Evol. Genus Bufo: 155.

Distribution

In creeks of the highlands (700-1200 m elevation) of west-central Togo and southwestern Cameroon, West Africa.
