Chaunus veredas Brandão, Maciel, and Sebben, 2007, J. Herpetol., 41: 11. Holotype: CHUNB 40282. Type locality: "Trijunção Farm (currently Parque Nacional Grande Sertão Veredas), Cocos Municipality, Bahia State, Brazil (14° 49′ S; 45° 58′ W)".

Rhinella veredas — Chaparro, Pramuk, and Gluesenkamp, 2007, Herpetologica, 63: 205. by implication.

Chaunus veredas — Savage and Bolaños, 2009, Zootaxa, 2005: 4. By implication.

English Names

None noted.

Distribution

Sandy-substrate regions in the status of Piauí and Bahia as well as northeastern Minas Gerais, Brazil.

Comment

In the Rhinella marina group (as Chaunus) according to the original publication. Maciel, Garcia, Colli, and Schwartz, 2010, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 57: 787-797, reported on the molecular systematics of the Rhinella marina group, including this species.
