Distribution

Buenos Aires Province through southern and eastern Uruguay to Rio Grande do Sul in Brazil and inland along the floodplains of the rivers Parana, Paraguay, and Uruguay north into Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil), to southern Paraguay.

Guerra, Baldo, Rosset, Borteiro, and Kolenc, 2011, Zootaxa, 3092: 36, suggested that Rhinella dorbignyi and Rhinella fernandezae are likely conspecific.
