Bufo nasicus Werner, 1903, Zool. Anz., 26: 252. Holotype: IRSNB I.G. 9422 reg. 1.015 (formerly 4792) according to Smith and Laurent, 1950, Bull. Mus. R. Hist. Nat. Belg., 26: 1; subsequently reported as IRSNB 1.015 by Lang, 1990, Doc. Trav., Inst. R. Sci. Nat. Belg., 59: 7. Type locality: "ohne irgend welche Fundortsangabe" (= without locality data); restricted to "South America, probably along the Atlantic drainage" by Smith and Laurent, 1950, Bull. Mus. R. Hist. Nat. Belg., 26: 2.

Distribution

Eastern Venezuela and northwestern Guyana, 500-1350 m elevation.

Comment

Hoogmoed, 1977, Zool. Meded., Leiden, 51: 265-275, provided an account (as Bufo nasicus). Barrio-Amorós, 1999 "1998", Acta Biol. Venezuelica, 18: 10, commented on the range in Venezuela. Transferred to the Bufo guttatus group (now Rhaebo) by Pramuk, 2006, Zool. J. Linn. Soc., 146: 434, which is Rhaebo of this catalogue. Kok and Kalamandeen, 2008, Intr. Taxon. Amph. Kaieteur Natl. Park, 5: 128-129, provided an account. MacCulloch and Lathrop, 2009, R. Ontario Mus. Contrib. Sci., 4: 12, commented on specimens from Mount Ayanganna, Guyana.
