Comment

Removed from the synonymy of Alsodes monticola by Formas, Nuñez, and Cuevas, 2008, Rev. Chilena Hist. Nat., 81: 3-20, where it had been placed by Lynch, 1968, Herpetologica, 24: 255-257. Formas et al., 2008, also noted the type locality and suggested that specimens other than the holotype were referrabe to other species. Cei, 1962, Batr. Chile: 77-78 (as Eupsophus coppingeri) provided an account (but see Formas, Nuñez, and Cuevas, 2008, Rev. Chilena Hist. Nat., 81: 3-20).
