Nectophryne signata Boulenger, 1895 "1894", Proc. Zool. Soc. London, 1894: 645. Syntypes: BMNH (2 specimens), by original designation. Type locality: "Robong [= Rabong] Mt., Kapunas district, Dutch Borneo", Kalimantan, Borneo.
Nectophryne exigua Boettger, 1900, Abh. Senckenb. Naturforsch. Ges., 25: 394. Holotype: SMF 3737 (formerly 1280a) according to Mertens, 1967, Senckenb. Biol., 48(A): 40. Type locality: "Baramfluss, Nord-Borneo" (= Baram River, Sarawak), Malaysia (Borneo). Synonymy by Inger and Stuebing, 2009, Raffles Bull. Zool., 57: 532.

Distribution
Tropical lowland forets of northern Borneo (Sarawak, Malaysia; Brunei), and presumably to be found in adjacent Kalimantan, Indonesia. Controversially to Pennsular Malaysia and Sumatra (see comment).
