Melanophryniscus krauczuki Baldo and Basso, 2004, J. Herpetol., 38: 394. Holotype: MLP DB 744, by original designation. Type locality: "Ruta provincial number 3, 3.5 km southeast from its junction with Ruta nacional number 12, 27° 29′ 26.5″ S, 55° 39′ 58.3″ W, approximately 165 m elevation; Candelaria Department, Misiones Province, Argentina".

English Names

None noted.

Distribution

Known only from southern Misiones, Argentina, as well as one record in adjacent Itapúa, Paraguay.

Comment

In the Melanophryniscus stelzneri group according to the original publication. Brusquetti, Baldo, and Motte, 2007, Check List, 3: 141-142, provided the first record for Paraguay and discussed the range.
