Dendrophryniscus stelzneri dorsalis Mertens, 1933, Zool. Anz., 102: 257. Holotype: SMF 22131, according to Mertens, 1967, Senckenb. Biol., 48(A): 43. Type locality: "Torres bei Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, Südbrasilien".
