Bufo Bocourti Brocchi, 1877, Bull. Soc. Philomath., Paris, Ser. 7, 1: 186. Syntypes: MNHNP 6343-44, 6471 (9 syntypes), according to Guibé, 1950 "1948", Cat. Types Amph. Mus. Natl. Hist. Nat.: 12. Type locality: "Totonicapam", Guatemala.

Distribution

Intermediate and high elevations of southwestern Guatemala and adjacent Chiapas, Mexico, 2000-3200 m elevation.

In the former Bufo bocourti group of Martin, 1972, in Blair (ed.), Evol. Genus Bufo: 50. See comment under Incilius regarding the phylogenetic position of this species.
