Ansonia rubigina Pillai and Pattabiraman, 1981, Proc. Indian Acad. Sci., Ser. B, 90: 203. Holotype: ZSI-SRS, no number given, by original designation. Given as ZSI-SRS VA/775 by Chanda, Das, and Dubois, 2001 "2000", Hamadryad, 25: 103. Type locality: "Kummattan Thodu, a tributary of River Kunthi, Silent Valley, S. India, Altitude 1005 metres", Kerala, India.

Ansonia rubrigina — Frost, 1985, Amph. Species World: 27. Incorrect subsequent spelling.

Ghatophryne rubigina — Biju, Van Bocxlaer, Giri, Loader, and Bossuyt, 2009, BMC Res. Notes, 2 (241): 2.
