BM 1947.2.20-66 (formerly 74.4.29.945) designated lectotype by Biju, Van Bocxlaer, Giri, Loader, and Bossuyt, 2009, BMC Res. Notes, 2 (241): 3. Type locality: "Brumagherries [Brahmagiri Hills]", Coorg, Mysore, India. Potential secondary homonym of Bufo ornatus Spix, 1824.

Bufo pulcher Boulenger, 1882, Cat. Batr. Sal. Coll. Brit. Mus., Ed. 2: 288. Replacement name for Ansonia ornata Günther, 1876.

Distribution

Coorg and Neria region of Dakshina Kannada District, Karnataka, in the southern Western Ghats, southwestern India.
