Chthonerpeton petersii Boulenger, 1882, Cat. Batr. Grad. Batr. Apoda Coll. Brit. Mus., Ed. 2: 104. Holotype: BMNH 1946.9.5.68 (formerly 61.9.2.6), according to Taylor, 1968, Caecilians of the World: 279. Type locality: "Upper Amazon".

English Names

Upper Amazon Caecilian (Frank and Ramus, 1995, Compl. Guide Scient. Common Names Amph. Rept. World: 26).

Distribution

General vicinity of Cerro Yapacana at around 100 m elevation in Amazonas state, southern Venezuela, and Mamirauá, and Rio Tea, Amazonas, Brazil; presumably to be found in adjacent Colombia.

Comment
