Geotrypetes grandisonae Taylor, 1970, Univ. Kansas Sci. Bull., 48: 849. Holotype: BMNH 1969.1589, by original designation. Type locality: "Aleku, 12 km N Dembidollo, [Welega Province,] Ethiopia, elev. 1846 m elev." (34° 37′ E; 8° 39′ N).

English Names

Aleku Caecilian (Frank and Ramus, 1995, Compl. Guide Scient. Common Names Amph. Rept. World: 25).

Ethiopian Caecilian (Largen and Spawls, 2010, Amph. Rept. Ethiopia Eritrea: 61).

Distribution

Endemic in the tropical deciduous forests of southwestern Ethiopia (Provinces of Willega, Kaffa, and Illubabor), Ethiopia, 1500-2150 m elevation; like to occur in adjacent South Sudan.
