Known only from the type locality (Krishna Farms, Gurpur, Karnataka, India).

Chanda, 2002, Handb. Indian Amph.: 206, provided a brief account. Bhatta, Dinesh, Prashanth, Kulkarni, and Radhakrishnan, 2010, J. Threatened Taxa, 2: 1105-1108, provided a dot-map of the species.
