Ichthyophis supachaii Taylor, 1960, Univ. Kansas Sci. Bull., 40: 107. Holotype: EHT-HMS 35498, by original designation; FMNH 189246 according to Marx, 1976, Fieldiana, Zool., 69: 35. Type locality: "10 km. west Nakon Si Thamarrat [= Nakhon Si Thammarat], Nakon Si Thamarrat [=Nakhon Si Thammarat] province", Thailand.

Distribution

Nakhon Si Thammarat and Trang provinces, peninsular Thailand; possibly to be found in extreme northern peninsular Malaysia.

See account by Taylor, 1962, Univ. Kansas Sci. Bull., 43: 586-588. Nutphund, 2001, Amph. Thailand: 53, provided a brief characterization. Kupfer and Müller, 2004, Amphibia-Reptilia, 25: 87-97, redescribed the holotype and discussed this striped species. Chan-ard, 2003, Photograph. Guide Amph. Thailand: 74-75, provided a very brief account, map for Thailand, and photograph. Nishikawa, Matsui, Yong, Ahmad, Yambun, Belabut, Sudin, Hamidy, Orlov, Ota, Yoshikawa, Tominaga, and Shimada, 2012, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 63: 714-723, commented on the distinctiveness of this lineage (as Ichthyophis cf. supachaii) from other members of this clade (e.g., their Ichthyophis cf. kohtaoensis, Ichthyophis cf. hypocyaneus, and Ichthyophis unnamed species 1).
