Husain's Caecilian (Dinesh, Radhakrishnan, Gururaja, and Bhatta, 2009, Rec. Zool. Surv. India, Occas. Pap., 302: 129; Mathew and Sen, 2010, Pict. Guide Amph. NE India: 131).
Garo Hills, western Meghalaya, and Assam, northeastern India.
Similar to Ichthyophis sikkimensis according to the original publication. Chanda, 2002, Handb. Indian Amph.: 206-207, provided a brief account. Dutta, 2003 "2002", Hamadryad, 27: 157, noted records from Assam and appeared to doubt the distinctiveness of this taxon from Ichthyophis sikkimensis. Kamei, Wilkinson, Gower, and Biju, 2009, Zootaxa, 2267: 26-42, did not map Assam as part of the range of Ichthyophis husaini. Mathew and Sen, 2010, Pict. Guide Amph. NE India: 131-132, provided a brief characterization and photograph.
