Ichthyophis husaini Pillai and Ravichandran, 1999, Rec. Zool. Surv. India, Occas. Pap., 172: 36. Holotype: ZSIS 18426, by original designation. Type locality: "Thebronggiri Coffee Garden, Rongram, Garo Hills, Meghalaya", India.

Distribution
Garo Hills, western Meghalaya, and Assam, northeastern India.
Comment
Similar to Ichthyophis sikkimensis according to the original publication. Chanda, 2002, Handb. Indian Amph.: 206-207, provided a brief account. Dutta, 2003 "2002", Hamadryad, 27: 157, noted records from Assam and appeared to doubt the distinctiveness of this taxon from Ichthyophis sikkimensis. Kamei, Wilkinson, Gower, and Biju, 2009, Zootaxa, 2267: 26-42, did not map Assam as part of the range of Ichthyophis husaini. Mathew and Sen, 2010, Pict. Guide Amph. NE India: 131-132, provided a brief characterization and photograph.
