Caecilia occidentalis Taylor, 1968, Caecilians of the World: 413. Holotype: FMNH 189202 according to Marx, 1976, Fieldiana, Zool., 69: 34 (formerly EHT-HMS 4665, by original designation). Type locality: "near Popayan, Cauca, Colombia".

Distribution
Known only from the type locality (Cauca) and El Pablado (Antioquia), Colombia.
