Type locality: "Nadarlar Köyü-Kas (Antalya)", Anatolia, Turkey. Synonymy with Mertensiella luschani helverseni by Moravec, 1997, in Böhme et al. (eds.), Herpetol. Bonn.: 284, but this was implicitly not accepted by Veith and Steinfartz, 2004, Salamandra, 40: 76.

Distribution

Found from Patara to Finiki, southwestern Anatolia (Turkey), 0-400 m elevation, and the adjacent Greek island of Kastellorizo and its satellite islets of Saria and Kasos.
