Mertensiella luschani helverseni Pieper, 1963, Senckenb. Biol., 44: 442. Holotype: SMF 59224, by original designation and according to Mertens, 1967, Senckenb. Biol., 48(A): 37. Type locality: "Pigadhia [= Pigádhia], Karpathos [Island]", Greece.

English Names

Helversen's Salamander (Valakos, Pafilis, Sotiropoulos, Lymberakis, Maragou, and Foufopoulos, 2008, Amph. Rept. Greece: 139).

Distribution

The Greek islands of Karpathos, Saria, and Kasos in the southeastern Aegean Sea.
