Didynamipus sjöstedti Andersson, 1903, Verh. Zool. Bot. Ges. Wien, 53: 143. Syntypes: NHMG Ba. ex. 221 (2 specimens), according to museum records. Type locality: "Kamerun". Incorrect original spelling of the species name.

Didynamipus sjostedti — Boulenger, 1904, Zool. Rec., 40: 35. Justified emendation of the species name.

Atelophryne minutus Boulenger, 1906 "1905", Ann. Mus. Civ. Stor. Nat. Genova, Ser. 3, 2: 159. Syntypes: 6 specimens (MSNG and BMNH), by original designatin. Type locality: "Basilè, Fernando Po, 400 to 600 metres altitude". Synonymy by Mertens, 1965, Bonn. Zool. Beitr., 16: 19 (not Noble, 1924, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 49: 147-347, as reported by Grandison, 1981, Monit. Zool. Ital., N.S., Suppl., 15: 188).

Didynamipus sjoestedti — Mertens, 1965, Bonn. Zool. Beitr., 16: 19. Amiet, 1976, Rev. Zool. Bot. Afr., 90: 40; Grandison, 1981, Monit. Zool. Ital., N.S., Suppl., 15: 187. Incorrect subsequent spelling.

English Names

Four-digit Toad (Frank and Ramus, 1995, Compl. Guide Scient. Common Names Amph. Rept. World: 44).

Distribution

Bioko (Equatorial Guinea) and extreme western Cameroon into southwestern-most Nigeria.

Comment

Art. 32.5.2 ( ICZN, 1999, Internatl. Code Zool. Nomencl., Ed. 4) restricts the exchange of ö for oe to German words; Sjöstedt is Swedish.
