Cynops chenggongensis Kou and Xing, 1983, Acta Herpetol. Sinica, Chengdu, N.S.,, 2 (4): 51. Holotype: YU A824008, by original designation; given as YU A824037 by Fei, Hu, Ye, and Huang, 2006, Fauna Sinica, Amph. 1: 324. Type locality: "Chenggong County, Yunnan Province, alt. 1940 m.", China. Given as "Shuitang", Chenggong Ounty, Yunnan, China, by XXX.

English Names

Chenggong Newt (Frank and Ramus, 1995, Compl. Guide Scient. Common Names Amph. Rept. World: 35).

Chenggong Fire-bellied Newt (Fei, 1999, Atlas Amph. China: 52).

Distribution

Known only from the type locality (Shiutang, Yunnan, China).
