Type locality: "United States fish-hatching establishment on the McCloud River, in Shasta County", California, USA; rendered as "Baird", McCloud River, Shasta County, California, USA by Dunn, 1926, Salamanders Fam. Distribution

Extreme eastern Trinity county and western Shasta County, northern California, USA.
