Spelerpes (Oedipus) infuscatus Peters, 1879, Monatsber. Preuss. Akad. Wiss. Berlin, 1879: 778. Holotype: ZMB 6556, according to the original publication. Type locality: "Hayti", in error, according to Bauer, Good, and Günther, 1993, Mitt. Zool. Mus. Berlin, 69: 294, who considered this a possible senior synonym of Thorius narisovalis Taylor, 1940.

Thorius narisovalis Taylor, 1940 "1939", Univ. Kansas Sci. Bull., 26: 416. Holotype: EHT-HMS 17859, by original designation; now FMNH 100089 according to Marx, 1976, Fieldiana, Zool., 69: 41. Type locality: "elevation of about 2,600-3,00 meters on Cerro San Felipe, 15 km. north[east] of Oaxaca, Oaxaca", Mexico.

Distribution

Known only from the vicinity of the type locality (Cerro San Felipe, Oaxaca, Mexico), in cloud forests in pine-oak woodland, 2600-3000 m elevation
