Arboreal Thorius (Liner and Casas-Andreu, 2008, Herpetol. Circ., 38: 36).
Known only from the vicinity of the type locality in cloud forest on the Atlantic drainage of the Sierra de Juarez, Oaxaca, Mexico, 2170-2755 m elevation.
Highton, 2000, in Bruce et al., Biol. Plethodontid Salamanders: 223, suggested, on the basis of allozyme evidence that three species likely masquerade under this name.
