Raffaëlli, 2007, Les Urodèles du Monde: 219, provided a brief account, photograph, and map, and considered it to be in the Pseudoeurycea bellii group. Liner, Johnson, and Chaney, 1976, Herpetol. Rev., 7: 177, provided specific localities for this species and commented on the range.
