Oedipina alleni Taylor, 1954, Univ. Kansas Sci. Bull., 36: 607. Holotype: KU 34926, by original designation. Type locality: "Palmar [Norte, Cantón de Osa], Puntarenas Province, Costa Rica". Savage, 1974, Rev. Biol. Tropical, 22: 101, commented on the type locality.

Humid lowlands and lower premontane slopes on the Pacific versant of southwestern Costa Rica and extreme western Panama, 2-880 m elevation.

Removed from the synonymy of Oedipina parvipes by Good and Wake, 1997, Rev. Biol. Tropical, 45: 1185-1208, where it had been placed by Brame, 1968, J. Herpetol., 2: 10.
