Comment

Chippindale, Price, Wiens, and Hillis, 2000, Herpetol. Monogr., 14: 1-80, discussed the systematics of this species and noted that its distribution is considerably smaller than previously thought, having been confused with several other taxa. Raffaëlli, 2007, Les Urodèles du Monde: 179, provided a brief account, photograph, and map. See photograph, map, description of geographic range and habitat, and conservation status in Stuart, Hoffmann, Chanson, Cox, Berridge, Ramani, and Young, 2008, Threatened Amph. World: 573.
