Nototriton wakei Campbell and Smith, 1998, Sci. Pap. Nat. Hist. Mus. Univ. Kansas, 6: 5. Holotype: UTA A-50002, by original designation. Type locality: "west slope of Cerro Pozo de Agua, Sierra de Caral, Municipio de Morales, Izabal, Guatemala, 1150 m elevation, (15° 22′ N, 88° 42′ W)".

Cryptotriton wakei — García-París and Wake, 2000, Copeia, 2000: 58.

Sierra de Caral, Izabal, Guatemala, in cloud forest.

Comment

McCranie and Wilson, 2002, Amph. Honduras: 139, suggested that this taxon is indistinguishable from Cryptotriton nasalis as did McCranie, 2006, Cat. Am. Amph. Rept., 803: 1-4. Raffaëlli, 2007, Les Urodèles du Monde: 279, provided a brief account and map.
