Bolitoglossa schizodactyla Wake and Brame, 1966, Fieldiana, Zool., 51: 1. Holotype: FMNH 141241, by original designation. Type locality: "El Valle de Anton, 560 meters (1,837 feet), Provincia de Cocle, Panama".

Bolitoglossa (Eladinea) schizodactyla — Parra-Olea, García-París, and Wake, 2004, Biol. J. Linn. Soc., 81: 336.

English Names

Cocle Mushroomtongue Salamander (Frank and Ramus, 1995, Compl. Guide Scient. Common Names Amph. Rept. World: 30).

Distribution

Humid lowlands and premontane slopes of the Atlantic slope from southeastern Costa Rica (780 m) to central Panama (1-750 m); also from the Pacific slope at El Valle de Antón, Coclé Province, and La Campana, Panama Province, Panama (300-850 m).
