Type locality: "3.0 km SSE Chichicastenango, valley between Paxot and Caminibal, 2100 m, El Quiché, Guatemala (14.921181° N, 91.103626° W)".

Northern edge of the Guatemalan Plateau and the extreme western portion of the Sierra de Chuacús, at 2100-2390 m in pine-oak forest, El Quiché, Guatemala.
