Ansonia meghalayana Yazdani and Chanda, 1971, J. Assam Sci. Soc., 14: 76. Holotype: ZSIC A6969, by original designation. Type locality: "Mawblang, ca. 5 km. south-east of Cherrapunji town (Khasi-Jaintia Hills District, Meghalaya), Lat. 25° 15′ N. and long 91° 44′ E., altitude above mean sea-level 4369 ft. or ca. 1330 meters", India.

English Names

Mawblang Toad (Frank and Ramus, 1995, Compl. Guide Scient. Common Names Amph. Rept. World: 44; Mathew and Sen, 2010, Pict. Guide Amph. NE India: 9).

Rock Toad (Ananjeva, Borkin, Darevsky, and Orlov, 1988, Dict. Amph. Rept. Five Languages: 42).

Khasi Hills Toad (Das and Dutta, 1998, Hamadryad, 23: 64).

Distribution

Known only from the type locality (Mawblang), Cherrapunji, and Khasi Hills, Meghalaya, as well as in Assam and Mizoram, India.

Comment

Stated to be allied with Ansonia ornata in the original publication. Dutta, 1997, Amph. India Sri Lanka: 53-54, and Chanda, 2002, Handb. Indian Amph.: 31, provided brief accounts.
