Bufoides Pillai and Yazdani, 1973, J. Zool. Soc. India, 25: 65. Type species: Ansonia meghalayana Yazdani and Chanda, 1971, by original designation.

English Names

Mawblang Toads (Frank and Ramus, 1995, Compl. Guide Scient. Common Names Amph. Rept. World: 44).

Rock Toads (Ananjeva, Borkin, Darevsky, and Orlov, 1988, Dict. Amph. Rept. Five Languages: 42).

Distribution

Meghalaya, northeastern India.

Comment

Smith and Chiszar, 2006, Herpetol. Conserv. Biol., 1: 6-8, implied that this taxon should be considered a subgenus of Bufo; see comment under Bufonidae. Not included in any published phylogenetic analysis so its phylogenetic placement is unknown.
