Bolitoglossa decora McCranie and Wilson, 1997, Proc. Biol. Soc. Washington, 110: 367. Holotype: USNM 500000, by original designation. Type locality: "along the trail to Cerro Enmedio near the Monte Escondido campground (15° 05′ N, 86° 44′ W), Parque Nacional La Muralla, 1440 m elev., Departamento de Olancho, Honduras".

Distribution
Known only from the vicinity of the type locality in the cloud forest of Parque Nacional La Muralla, Departamento de Olancho, Honduras, 1430-1550 m elevation.

McCranie and Wilson, 2002, Amph. Honduras: 106-108, provided an account. McCranie, 2006, Cat. Am. Amph. Rept., 801: 1-3, reviewed the species.
